The Cetex Institute is located in the traditional industrial site of Chemnitz. The region is characterized by a strong group of medium-sized companies, large enterprises and a pronounced research landscape. As an affiliated institute of the Technical University of Chemnitz, there are particularly close cooperative relations.
Strengthening the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises through tailor-made innovations is the focus of all activities.
Cetex is a partner of the Chemnitz Alliance of Textile Lightweighting (Allianz Textiler Leichtbau - ATL), which coordinates and works on more than 350 research projects. The partners of this alliance are the TU Chemnitz, the Fraunhofer Research Center - STEX and the STFI. The alliance is cooperating with a variety of regional companies and research facilities.

As a network management institution Cetex coordinates several networks which are funded within the framework of the central innovation program for medium-sized companies.
