Joint presentation at the Composites Europe 2019
The centerpiece of the institute's presentation will be the two projects ARWeS - Automatic Roving Exchange System and Ce-Rov® Hybrid Roving Materials, which met with great interest at the ITMA 2019 in Barcelona.
An animation illustrates the basic principle and benefits of the ARWeS Roving Exchange System. The fully automated system operation enables the new solution to reproducibly connect the reinforcing fibers to each other. The novel system is suitable for all available reinforcement fiber systems (glass, basalt, carbon).
The Ce-Rov® hybrid roving materials are presented in different material combinations. Experiments were conducted with the fiber manufacturers to define optimal fiber-matrix combinations for different fields of application. The filaments of the roving materials are fully stretched in the hybrid roving material and form an ideal basis for the production of almost all FRP components.
Further research results on the production of fiber-reinforced lightweight structures complete the presentation.
